My decision to run for office was an easy one to make. I have a vision of the role government should play in our lives, and am eager to serve as the voice for our community as we seek necessary improvements -- together. I have often been told that I have an innate leadership quality and civic passion which would serve me well in political office. I see this election as my first opportunity to use my skills to help create change. It is time to make change -- not simply talk about it.
Lee Holtzman was born in Livingston and raised in Sussex County. Lee resides in Livingston with his wife and two daughters. Lee enjoys spending his free time with his entire family, whether at home or participating in their favorite activities. Together, they swim, watch football, play tennis and do whatever else will make his young girls smile.
After graduating from law school, Lee clerked for the Honorable Roger M. Kahn, Tax Court of New Jersey from September 2001 to August 2002. After his clerkship ended, Lee began to practice property tax law at a mid sized law firm in Roseland before leaving with a partner to open his own firm in June of 2005. He was a named partner in that firm until July 2010, when he left to join a prominent Newark based law firm where he continues to specialize in property tax law.
Lee has been named a New Jersey Rising Star in the New Jersey Super Lawyers Magazine every year since 2008.
