Huhn resides in Sparta with her husband and two school-aged daughters.
Since graduating, Huhn has devoted her professional career to the care of sick people. For the past 17 years, she has worked as a nurse on both Cardiac Surgery ICU and Cardiac Surgery step down units.
Over the past five years, Huhn has become a leading advocate for public education within the 24th District. In 2010 when the public schools were faced with devastating cuts in state aid, she co-founded Sparta Unites for our Schools ("SUFoS"), a 200-member grassroots organization established to raise awareness on the issues and to implore local legislators to advocate for Sussex County schools in Trenton. Her discussions with legislators have focused on the importance of adequate funding for public education. Huhn has also testified before the State Assembly Education Committee to discuss the impact of budget cuts on the Sparta public education system. Huhn is an active member of the Sparta community she currently serves on the Parent Board for the Biryukov Academy of Arts and Music, she is a local Girl Scout troop leader, she leads BRAVO music appreciation lessons and is a class mother within the Sparta public school district.
Huhn graduated in 1994 from William Paterson University with a Bachelor's degree in Nursing. While at William Paterson, Huhn was a member of the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society for Nursing.
